Line Conditioning Unit
The Moog FCS Line Conditioning Unit (LCU) serves to connect your servo-actuator to the hydraulic ring main or pump in a safe and controlled manner. The LCU is fed directly from the ring main/pump outlet via flexible hoses.

The Line Conditioning Unit performs the following major functions:
- Under the control of the electronic control and safety system, the LCU switches the oil supply to the actuator on or off. The control system contains safety interlocks and, in the event of test specimen failure or malfunction, it will shut off the oil supply to the actuator by means of the LCU without affecting other test equipment running from the same ring main supply.
- Enables the selection of high oil pressure for carrying out tests, or low pressure for setting up.
- Provides full flow filtration of the oil supply to protect both the actuator and the servo valves from contamination. An electrical ’filter dirty‘signal provides a warning status.
- Includes as a safety feature, pressure switches to monitor pilot and main hydraulic supply pressure. The pressure switch is set at 90% system pressure and interlocked with the safety system to provide protection against serious leaks or pressure loss during normal operation.
- Facilitates the mounting of hydraulic accumulators to meet instantaneous demands made by the actuators and damps out hydraulic vibration (optional).
- Provides an independent pilot supply via a 3 micron high-strength non by-pass filter assembly, selectable from the controller (optional).

- Can be supplied without filter and accumulators for a basic isolation manifold

All Line Conditioning Units may have a pilot pressure option fitted, to include:
- Independent pilot supply on/off selection
- Pilot pressure failure detection
- 3 micron non by-pass pilot filter
- Pilot back-up accumulator option
